Rakuten TV Signs Sponsorship Deal For 2018 Empire Awards
Bauer Media today unveiled on demand video service Rakuten TV as the headline sponsor of the 2018 Empire Awards. The annual event takes place on 18th March at London’s iconic Roundhouse venue.
The multi-platform campaign will reach an estimated 4 million consumers. As part of the deal there will be editorial content such as red carpet interviews in the magazine branded with Rakuten TV. Alongside being the headline sponsor Rakuten TV are also sponsoring the Best Actor, Best Actress and a third award yet to be revealed. The deal also covers Empire’s website, social media and its podcast.
Rakuten TV’s campaign centres around the company’s ‘your cinema at home’ motto. Their aim is to give people that cinema experience in their own home by making the latest blockbusters available to stream soon after their release. Rakuten TV is currently working on offering a catalogue of 4KHDR movies across a a range of Smart TV manufacturers. Rakuten TV is currently available to stream in 12 countries across Europe.
With this partnership they hope to bring their brand close to Empire magazine’s readers who naturally have a passion for film and television. As well as offering the latest releases from major Hollywood Studios Rakuten TV will be releasing its first original content in the UK and Spain later this year.
