KFC launches the Internet Escape Pod complete with giant Colonel

Cyber Monday is coming up fast and with that comes a full on bombardment of deals from everywhere. Luckily the Colonel has your back with the Internet Escape Pod.

The pod is big enough to seat 4 people plus that all important bucket of chicken. Alternatively hop in there alone and there’s room for more chicken. Of course no KFC pod would be complete without a giant Colonel Sanders on top. And of course thee handle is shaped like a chicken leg, what else.

The Internet Escape Pod itself is made from a combination of steel and stainless steel mesh cage. The Colonel, freakishly long arms and all, is made from high-density architectural foam and enamel paint.

The material should, in theory, block out signals to your mobile phone and other devices leaving you to eat your chicken in peace.

Originally touted at a price of $96,485.34 the ever generous Colonel has decided the cost of this privacy should be just $10,000. Because just putting your phone down is too simple. Imagine all the chicken you could buy with that money.

“We’ve come up with several technologically advanced, creative experiences for our customers and fans this year,” said George Felix, director of KFC’s US advertising. “But even we feel the burden of technology during the holiday season. So we decided to go in the opposite direction and create an anti-technology product, using technology, to help one lucky buyer literally escape the holiday chaos.”

This isn’t the first time KFC has come up with some crazy marketing product. In Japan earlier this month followers of the KFC Japan account could win KFC scented, chicken shaped bath bombs. This follows on from chicken-scented candles and the finger-lickin’ good range of nail polishes. Even crazier the official Twitter account follows 11 people – 5 Spice Girls and 11 Herbs – representing the 11 herbs and spices in the Colonel’s favourite recipe.
